Yes, you can color the Natural Black of the ONYC Relaxed Hair Tape Extensions!
For the Color-Treated Extensions that come treated with color, we strongly recommend using deposit colors ONLY. (This means you should choose shades darker than the original color, but not lighter).
Generally, it is advisable to make any significant color changes before installation. This is recommended because the texture or porosity of your natural hair might differ from that of the weft hair. Additionally, it can be challenging to fully wash off the residue from the coloring process on an installed weave. It’s crucial to AVOID chemical residue on your scalp, as it can lead to serious scalp injuries, including hair loss.
Remember that coloring (lightening the color) of the hair requires the use of chemicals that alter the hair cuticle and impact the hair’s integrity. Since this is real hair, applying strong chemicals will damage it, just as they would damage your natural hair.
NOTE: We advise that any coloring be done with the assistance of a professional stylist. Please avoid lightening the hair by more than 3-4 shades to preserve its integrity.
